Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about using FramerLoc for your Framer projects.

General & Compatibility
Does FrameLoc work with CMS collections?

Yes. FrameLoc is fully compatible with Framer CMS. It detects and translates CMS content dynamically without requiring a separate dashboard or duplicating your collections.

Can I use it on a free Framer plan?

Absolutely. FrameLoc works on all Framer plans, including the free tier. Since it doesn't rely on external server-side features, you are not restricted by Framer's plan limitations.

Does it work with components and overrides?

Yes. The plugin is designed to handle text inside components, variants, and even elements with code overrides. If a specific text layer isn't detected automatically, you can easily target it manually.

Will it break my layout?

No. Unlike some external translation tools that inject DOM elements and cause layout shifts, FrameLoc uses Framer’s native rendering engine. Your design, spacing, and breakpoints remain exactly as you designed them.

Localization & Detection
How does the language detection work?

FrameLoc checks the visitor's browser language preference (e.g., en-US, fr-FR) the moment the page loads. If your site supports that language, it switches instantly. If not, it falls back to your default language.

Can I add unlimited languages?

Yes. There are no artificial limits on the number of languages you can add to your project. You can support as many locales as you need without extra costs.

What happens if a translation is missing?

If a text element hasn't been translated yet, FrameLoc will simply display the text from your primary (default) locale, ensuring your site never shows blank spaces or broken content.

Privacy & Performance
Does FrameLoc use cookies?

No. FrameLoc is cookie-free. It uses local browser storage only to remember the user’s language preference if they manually switch it. This means you don’t need a cookie banner just for localization.

Is it GDPR/CCPA compliant?

Yes. Since we don't collect personal data, track IP addresses, or send data to external servers, FrameLoc is compliant by default. User data never leaves the browser.

Will it slow down my site?

No. The plugin is ultra-lightweight and adds no external requests (API calls) to your page load. Translation happens instantly on the client side, ensuring a 100 Lighthouse performance score.

Pricing & Licensing
Is this a subscription?

No. FrameLoc is a one-time purchase. You pay once and own the plugin license forever, including all future updates.

Do I need a separate license for each client site?

Yes. Each Framer project requires its own FrameLoc license. Once licensed, the plugin is fully unlocked for that specific project, regardless of how many team members or collaborators are working on it.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes, if the plugin doesn't work for your specific use case, contact support within 14 days for a refund. We want you to be happy with your localization workflow.
